As a fan of both Pokemon and South Park, one episode in particular really hooked me as a young sponge of a child… We have to collect all the Chinpokomon!
South Park has a way of addressing important issues in disguise through the means of cartoon children. I could begin to ramble off examples but… seriously… go watch South Park somewhere if you don’t know what I’m talking about. It’ll be worth it. Anyways, season 3, episode 11 was called “Chinpokomon" It was awesome. A complete play on the franchise. They even added a bit where Kenny dies from a seizure while playing the video game. This was a reference to a Japanese episode of Pokemon which DID cause a few little seizures here and there. BUT all jokes aside the thing that got me was this weird set of “Chinpokomon" they had created. I didn’t care if it was all for the sake of comedy (shoe!!!) I liked it. I made a bunch of sprites for a Chinpokomon/Pokemon fan game but it never got very far… we have to collect all the Chinpokomon!
Recently “South Park: the Stick of Truth" has been released. This game is like playing an episode of South Park. Even down to the dialogue and art. The art especially. Even the bobbing simple walking. A smaller side quest of the game is to collect all the hidden… … … Chinpokomon! Yup, I was excited when I saw it too! They even added new monsters to the line up… we have to collect all the Chinpokomon!
I still want to make some sort of fan game but for now I’ll have to settle for this ChinpokoDex!… we have to collect all the Chinpokomon!

Mario-Kun is an ongoing Japanese manga series. It travels through tons of diferent Super Mario games. It’s a kids comic, you can tell from some of the crude, weird, silly humor. For example! Sticking a ket up a Porcupuffer’s butthole. So much fun!
If you’ve seen enough of my posts you’ll know I like to color in things. It’s like a no-brainer thing I do when I’m bored er, frustrated ect. The way I choose to color in the comics is simple. I just base the colors off the sprites from the game the comic is representing. For example:
Above are my edit/colored versions of a few of my favorite panels. The comic is based in Super Mario World so I used Super Mario World sprites as the color base. Bingo!
The comic lasts a LONG time. Super Mario World, Super Mario Sunshine, Galaxy, ect. It’s crazy! Comic scans are floating around the Google machine. A few websites even have translations! Which is fucking awesome!

With new games dipping into old gold pots recently, we’ve seen the resurrection of old ideas AND characters! There are 2 characters recently that have been resurrected. One is awesome, one is an absolute pain. The Sumo Brothers and Chargin’ Chuck.
Both characters have gotten 3D forms now with slight alterations to the original forms. One alteration reveals… Something else… aliens
In Super Mario 3D World for the WiiU, the Chargin’ Chuck enemy can have it’s helmet knocked off! Which led me to make this post. With it’s helmet knocked off Chargin’ Chuck has a striking resemblance to the Sumo brother! Bingo!
Throughout different games you come across enemies that leave you thinking… how is this thing related to turtles? Chargin Chuck was always one of thum! In Super Mario World, you start in what looks like a deep forest and BAM a football player! Later on you’re deep in a dark cave and BAM football players spring out of one football player.
Could they be long lost relatives? Does it matter? Join me next time in the Fun Havers Cluuuuuuub!
SEGA's Sonic the hedgehog has been subjected to many changes and styles over the years. Many fans were upset claiming the only Sonic is a classic Sonic. Others loved the new changes and joke to let the past go. Weither it's turning into a werewolf or racing his past classic self, Sonic has taken many forms.
The newest form the hedgehogged hero has been portrayed in is Sonic BOOM. A 3D cartoon that features a new look for the fearsome 4. The big uproar was about Knuckles’ new bulkiness. That was definitely a curve ball. Many jokes have been made but all in all I think it’s going to be a cool new Sonic universe. Without a doubt there will be a new video game coming out as well so we have that to look forward to!
Artist Andrew Dickman created this sketch of what the Mario Brothers team would look like with a BOOM revamp. I love this picture. Such a great combo of styles. So in honer of great work and my own bordem I colored in the team and added a snazzy little logo. Here’s Andrew’s tumblr:
I’m not upset with Sonic’s new design at all. I’ve grown to anticipate the next change in Sonic’s adventure. For example!!! the new Legend of Zelda level in Sonic Lost World. You run around through Hyrule, through fields and in what looks like a Goron cave:
Not to mention the run through the Yoshi’s Island level:
If anyone reading this doesn’t know what Sonic BOOM is, here’s the image revealing the new character designs. You can clearly see the inspiration behind “Super Mario BOOM”
~gotta’ go fast!
I’m currently sitting at about 80% of Super Mario 3D World. Loved the game. Peach the whole time, I’ll admit it. No, it’s not cheating. Pshhht…
The game felt like a blend of a platformer Mario Bros. and Mario 64. You had freedom to move around but you had restrictions to a path… That flag tho… The 4 player mode was fun with difference in characters. The power-ups were great. GREAT! The cat suit’s agility and the chaos you could bring with a cherry were fantastic. The game itself was challenging but not tough enough to shelf it at 67% finished for the next 3 years becuase this one boss is just impossible man!
There were secrets throughout the entire game. My favorites were the random Pixel Luigi in each level. I tried to get screenshots of every cameo. They’re posted somewhere on the Nintendo facebook thing. "Smanglepan" (blonde, tan, alien, red glasses, Bingo) and the secret that is mentioned is the stamp hidden in each level. I thought they were really neat. The pixelated versions you could add to posts were fun. It’s just a shame it ended there…
That’s why I’ve put these here! (not every stamp) We can use them randomly in slightly useful times AND color them! When you ask? I Don’t know, whenever you feel like it?
(the pixelated stamps organized from the SuperMario Wiki)
This is awesome! It makes everything look so… simple. Someone needs to resurrect an Ocarina of Time 2D fangame.
Right on schedule, another post about the Pokermans. There are new Pokemon! I guess they aren’t official yet… but apparently Nintendo has been hacked?
Anyways, the first trio is Hoopa, Volcanion and Diancie. They could be legendary, they could be event Pokemon. Who knows?
Next we have what could be the Mega evolution of Latios and Latias. Not the yellow guy. That’s the character Sparrowmon from Digimon. I just put that there because they look the same. Yup.
and Finally we have 2 new colors of Vivillion and a new color of Floette. New areas?
I really want to know if there is going to be a Pokemon Z coming out. There needs to be right?! Like Pokemon Yellow to Blue/Red or Crystal to Gold/Silver?
No… this isn’t some new comic I’m reading currently… silly reader. Although it could make a great story, this is a sketch that got out of hand and turned into some sort of finished product. "the Time Victor!"
This is an exaggerated representation of the guy I work with, the man I work for and his son who is a good friend of mine. There’s a little story that goes along with it but I won’t bore…
…Unless you want to hear it?
PS: like what I did with the DC logo. CF… Cary Frank… heh heh.
Whenever I’m working on something I always have background noise. It could be any type of music, radio, TV, a movie, doesn’t really matter. A few TV shows I’ve watched recently have video game themed episodes. It’s always awesome to see how they throw their spin on it. Above are the few I’ve seen recently:
Community, Season 3 Episode 20 “Digital Estate Planning”
The video game reference in this episode is when the cast of the show enters a game.
Bob’s Burger’s, Season 2 Episode 4 “Burger Boss”
The video game reference in this episode is when Bob gets an arcade game to draw in business. Also, the credits are pixelated!
Gravity Falls, Season 1 Episode 10 “Fight Fighters”
The video game reference in this episode is when an arcade fighter comes to life. It’s wicked. AND the pixel artist Paul Robertson is on tumblr.
I hadn’t even really heard of the show when I saw the Rumble McSkirmish gifs. It got me hooked, the episode is well done, great cartoon.
*Battle Theme is heard*
Trainer Cary and Trainer Perry challenge you to a double battle… Platformer style!
…oh there IS so much more to this to answer your question you didn’t ask.
