I wrote a little article on Alex Onsager’s "Fuison Machine" website when a while back:
and even redrew a few of my favorites like a lot of people did at the time.
Wicked little program. It always reminded me of Bill’s Machine from Pokemon. Which made me think, wouldn’t it be cool if they crossed paths? Bill already had his “fusion” machine. Say one day he gets an email from one, A.Onsager revealing an algorithm in data to actually create Pokemon Fusion… Well… I thought this! so I did a little thing…
Above is what the Pokemon game would’ve looked like if Bill finally created the Fusion PC using A. Onsager’s algorithm. The first image being a remake of the classic “Bill in distress” situation mixed with A. Onsager’s fusion machine idea. (with a recolored comic bit in there)
The following image is what it would look like if you fused Slobro and Rhydon in both ways… BECUASE depending on what pokemon is on the left and the right your pokemon will come out diferent. This idea I got from A. Onsager’s fuison website:
As you can see, what happens are a few simple tweaks. The Pokemon on the right maintains the body structure but takes on the color scheme of the Pokemon on the left. The “face” of the Pokemon comes from the the Pokemon on the left. Depending on the size of the left side Pokemon’s body the “face” area will stretch to fit.
So just like in the program, the game would function the same way. My twist is, Instead of receiving the Fused Pokemon, you receive an egg that contains said, fused monster. You hatch it and raise it at level one. I think this would add an amazing addition to the game. My examples are redrawn so you can’t see any flaws or differences in pixel size. (Plus I edited the shells and then some) A.Osager’s program is brilliant in the sense that you don’t need to set a whole new pokemon, the image is just a re-sized mixture of the face with the other body while adding basic recolors. This could be perfect if applied to the game. Sure, it would take up a chunk of data BUT the idea of just face/color changing would save so much!
AND to end it all off, here are some random fusion’s that tickled me. Hope you enjoyed this little creation :)
